Stomper Customers - PR What?
I recently (yesterday) finally made the move from Blogger to Movable Type. Blogger was cool because they gave you free Gmail accounts, but now that Gmail is old news I finally had to move.
Transitioning is harder than you would think, especially since Blogger doesn’t support titles in posts. Anyway, from now on it’s MT.
For Stomper Customers who are confused about the PageRank (PR0) of new posts, note that ALL new pages are PR0. The Google toolbar does not update right away. (No more what the *%$@? emails.) To see an old blog entry with PR, click here for one of the old URL’s.
Also for Stomper customers, remember there is a fine line between a Stomper offer (cool), participating in blog discussions (even cooler) and blog spam (uncool). 
Here’s a few of the reasons you may want to consider MT over blogger: (BTW, if you don’t know why you need a blog yet, get the Stomper and catch up fast.)
1. MT is more search engine friendly. Although Blogger has gotten better of late (it used to not even support comments), it’s still not as SEO freindly. MT creates sepaarate pages for each post and comment — and has keyword-rich titles for each.
2. MT is more robust. It’s easier to edit templates, add scripts, and use more advanced functionaity with MT.
3. Forums. It’s easy to add forum functionality to MT so that visitors can actually create their own threads, leading to more and better content automatically.
4. MT supports Trackback.

Gotta confess publicly (I sent Brad a similar email privately). I inadvertently posted multiple comments on your blog. I am a newbie and I kept hitting the refresh key while I was posting and each time I did so, my comment was re-posted. As a result, there were multiple, identical postings, from me. My humblest apologies for the blog spam - good intentions notwithstanding.
Anyhow, your Stomper product is excellent - for a couple hundred bucks, I got a couple grand worth of extra traffic after I applied some of the techniques. I’ll take it anyday.

I’m testing out WordPress’s blogging software right now (http://wordpress.org/)…it’s free and licensed under the GNU General Public License, so you can get in there and play with the code if you’re into that and want to make your own changes and tweaks…it’s working so far, but I’m not nearly finished testing it out.

Brad, I just went to my front door and the courier had jammed the Stomper box in there — it’s here! I have a long flight and a couple days away so I can’t wait to dig into it…I have been trying to install a Blogger blog for 2 days and tore out my eyebrows…MT looks even harder, so I plan to outsource the install on Elance instead of throwing my hands up and quitting….I know I need a blog!

I have been considering Movable Type for a while but didn’t go ahead when they were playing around with the pricing a while ago. I understand that now they went back to a reasonable model again so I may have another look.
Do you mind expanding a bit on what is more SE-friendly with MT. I thought Blogger also created individual pages for each post with the Title in the title-tag, or am I wrong?

It’s pretty cool to observe, how people receive stomper cds, learn them and start to emplement their knowledge. Some doing it in the wrong way.
What concerns the movable type, I also think it is much better then blogger.

Thanks for the great info and down-to-earth simplification in “Stomping”. I have learned more in the past week about all I’ve been doing wrong on my Scrap Recycling Business Opportunities site for the past 5 years. I cannot currently find my site in Google rankings, much less in the top 3 pages, so I’m in need of lots of help. I’m assuming I AM ranked somewhere as I DO have page rank 3 on my home page and blog.
I DO have a recycling blog and am most interested in the MT conversion. Which version would you suggest for a one-person, one author niche blog?
